Almost 900 athletes attending the 2011 Pacific Games cast their ballots for an athlete to represent them on the Executive Board of the Pacific Games Council for the next four years.
The three candidates were Carl Probert (Swimming, Fiji), Diane Bui-Duyet (Swimming, New Caledonia), and Anolyn Lulu (Table Tennis, Vanuatu).
Voting was held throughout the two weeks of the Games, and was conducted by the Voices of the Athletes program. The Voices of the Athletes program were located in the Games Village to enable the athletes to enjoy easy access to voting.
At the Closing Ceremony of the 14th Pacific Games, Council President Vidhya Lakhan had the pleasure of announcing to the crowd of athletes and Games volunteers that Carl Probert was the successful candidate.
The Pacific Games Council congratulates Carl on his victory and wishes him all the best in his new role as a member of the Executive Board.
