The third "Sport and the Pacific Region" academic conference will take place on 12-13 August at the University of New Caledonia.
Academics from Victoria, James Cook, and Southern Cross Universities (Australia), the University of the South Pacific (Fiji), Ruhr University (Germany) and the University of Lyon (France) will join delegates from the University of New Caledonia for a full discussion on a range of issues affecting sport in the Pacific region.
This academic conference has become a regular feature of the Pacific Games program, debuting at the National University of Samoa in 2007 and replicated through the University of the South Pacific in Rarotonga on the eve of the Cook Islands 2009 Pacific Mini Games.
Victoira University continues its role as the main sponsor of the conference and this year the University of New Caledonia plays host as it gears up to host the athletes of the 14th Pacific Games in a matter of weeks.
More details on the conference are provided in the attached flyer.
The Pacific Games Council thanks its partners at the University of New Caledonia and Victoria University, and wishes all of the conference delegates a fruitful and rewarding meeting.
