On January 25, 2005, as defined in the 12th SPG Charter a 2011 South Pacific Games Bid Notice was sent to you all Council members.
The notice read:
Dear South Pacific Games Council Members,
In accordance with Article XIV of the South Pacific Games Charter, Bids are now being invited from Council members who are desirous of hosting the 2011 South Pacific Games.
The Bids will be determined at the SPG Council meeting which be held in Palau on Sunday 31 July, 2005.
Bidding Associations are required to :
1/ Submit 3 copies of its Bid to the Secretary General of the SPGC no later then 29 April, 2005.
2/ Send one copy of its Bid to each Council Member country/territory.
In accordance with Article XIV E., Bidding Associations are reminded that each Bid must contain:
1/ A letter from the Government of the Country/Territory supporting the Bid and undertaking to cover the costs of the Games.
2/ A signed agreement to pay the sum of US$ 10,000.00 or US$ 5,000.00 when the South Pacific Games or South Pacific Mini Games respectively, are granted to the bidding country. This payment could be made in four equal payments of US$ 2,500 or US$1,250 respectively.
3/ A list of the Sports offered, which the Bid Country should organize if successful. These sports are to be selected from the list as per By-Law XVI.
4/ A detailed description of the accommodation, security, catering, medical, transport and telecommunication facilities. Where possible, the Organizing Committee should present a rough estimate of the Per Diem cost for staying in the Village during the period of the Games.
5/ A complete description of the Sports Facilities already in existence and of those to be created for the organization of the South Pacific Games or South Pacific Mini Games.
6/ Undertake to pay for the accommodation costs of the President of the SPGC if he or she has to visit the host country during the 4 year period between the Games.
