Manueli Tulo Fiji Sports Personality 2010

Manueli Tulo is again, one of the finalists competing in the Sports Personality of the year award. This award was presented to Niko Verekauta last year.

Manueli, is currently ranked 10th in the World Junior rankings. Won four gold medals and set four new records in the Oceania Championships in the Open and Junior 56kg categories lifting 106kg in the snatch and 134kg in the clean and jerk lifts.  In Moindou, New Caledonia Tulo smashed the Oceania and South Pacific Junior record in the clean & jerk with 140kg and he totaled 245kg constituting a new total record in the 56kg category.  He was the Winner of 2009 FASANOC & Fiji Sports Council Male Athlete of the Year awards presented in 2010.  Manueli is currently training full time at the Oceania Weightlifting Centre in New Caledonia having been awarded in 2010 an “Olympic Scholarship for Athletes 2010 London” scholarship from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The 2010 Fiji Sports Awards organised by Fiji Sports Council and FASANOC, will be held on Friday 04 March at National Gymnasium.
