Tulo bounced back to win gold at the Pacific Cup competition

Fiji weightlifting sensational, Manueli Tulo bounced back to win gold at the Pacific Cup competition in Noumea despite suffering a injury at the previous World Junior Weightlifting Championship in Bulgaria two months ago.

Tulo won gold in the 56kg weight category with his nearest competition being 20kgs away from Tulo’s total weight of 230kgs.

Tulo’s lift This is only 10Kg behind is best performance of 240Kg, which he lifted at the 2010 Oceania Weightlifting Championships, in Suva.

He has been training under the guidance of Oceania weightlifting coach, Paul Coffa and will now prepare for the World Championship which will be held in Antalya, Turkey on September 18-30th which will also be an Olympic qualification.

Tulo needs to finish in the top 15 in their weight division to qualify for the Olympics.
