Tutuila Swimming takes 17 places at Samoa National

The American Samoa Swimming Association sent five junior swimmers from Tutuila Swimming to compete in last week’s Samoa Nationals held at the Tuana'imato Aquatic Centre at the Faleata Sport Complex. Despite the fact that two swimmers contracted the flu and one was diagnosed with dengue fever within two weeks of the competition, the swimmers returned with 17 places overall in the swim meet.more

Swimmers are training up for the upcoming Samoa Nationals to be held at the Tuanaimato Aquatic Centre at the Faleata Sports Complex in Apia from November 20 -22.more

Swimmers return from Beijing!

American Samoa sent two swimmers Virginia Farmer and Stewart Glenister under the coaching of Army Swimming Head Coach Mickey Wender to the Olympics in Beijing to compete in the 50 Freestyle. Stewart won his heat and placed 71st out of 97 swimmers setting a new American Samoa national record of 25.45 seconds. Virginia placed third in her heat with an overall ranking of 62nd out of 90 setting a new American Samoa national record of 28.82.more
