McDonald's Saipan extended its support to one of the most consistent and well-attended sports programs in the CNMI-the All Schools Athletics Championships.
Saipan's Noriko Jim completed a three-peat in the 10K race on Saturday morning.
Jim cruised to her third straight 10K win after topping the women's field with a time of 43 minutes and 43 seconds. The 40-year-old long runner prevailed over fellow Saipan bet Akiko Miller, who crossed the finished line with his baby boy in a stroller at the 48:27 mark. Rounding out the Top 6 were Japan's Kazuyo Itagaki (48:40) and Emiko Ueno (49:27) and the CNMI's Saihong Wang (51:32) and Sakiko Eda (51:39).
The CNMI's Yvonne Bennett raced for Boise State University in the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships and helped the Bronco crush the 23-year-old record in the 4x400m women's relay run.
Bennett teamed up with Mackenzie Flannigan, Cyntrail Pierce, and Taryn Campos and the quartet completed the 4x400m relay race in three minutes, 44.64 seconds for a runner-up finish against Louisiana Tech.
