OHF Event Manual

The Oceania Hockey ‘Event Organisation Manual’ forms a practical resource to assist the organisers of international or regional and national level hockey events in Oceania.

The need for this manual was identified by Oceania Hockey Federation (OHF), as we endeavour to ensure that all our events are planned in a professional and consistent manner. It is also a resource as a guide to the developing island members as they increasingly run their own tournaments. OHF can be substituted for the controlling body.

The manual is a quality assurance control which enables hockey events to be staged to a consistently high standard.  The visible aspects as well as some of the more invisible aspects of the event are covered.

This manual represents the collective views of individuals and organisations with vast experience in the organisation of major sporting events. This manual has been updated by FIH at the end of 2017 and the one attached is now the current one.

For a smooth running tournament there always needs to be close cooperation between the Technical Director who has ultimate responsibility and the Tournament Manager.

We have a strong desire to present ‘our’ game in the best possible way and to assist all organisers in achieving that aim.

Please find also attached a supprting resource manual.

The very best of luck with your event!
