News for all sailors at BSS
The BSS committee has been considering the issue of water quality in the Brisbane River since the floods of January 2011.
After cancelling some scheduled sailing immediately after the floods, we resumed with "no points" races for a number of weeks so there was no pressure on any competitors to enter the water.
However after some consideration the BSS Committee has decided to return to the normal racing schedule from the 27th of February 2011. We held a round of our club championship on that day and were pleased to have 51 boats on the water competing.
We have had no reports of any adverse reactions since we have resumed sailing.

Everyone intending to sail should be aware of information released by organisations involved with the Brisbane River and with the quality of the river water.
They should make their own personal decision as to whether it is safe to sail on the river.
