Timing is everything. Just as the new water tanks were completed and hooked up to the roofs of both clubs, down came the rain. We are now holding 112,000 litres of water, so there should be no problem hosing our boats for the next ten years or so.
The installation of the tanks was made possible by a $50,000 grant we received from the Australian Government Community Water Grants Scheme, and through an incredible amount of work put in by Ralph Wilson to secure the grant, organise the contractors, deal with a range of problems during construction, and then arranging for some unseasonal rain to fill them!.
The water will utilised in the toilets of both buildings, for watering the grass in the rigging areas, and for boat washing etc.
