Message from the Commodore

The sailing season is fast approaching and preparations are underway for another successful, albeit quieter sailing season.

For those of you who have paid your membership, you should have received your membership cards etc. If not please contact Stacey in the office immediately.  We now know that some mail has not reached its destination for one reason or another.  Financial membership expires on 31 August so if you have not had the opportunity to pay your membership or have not received renewal forms, please contact Stacey urgently to maintain your financial status and enjoy the privileges.  New keys are to be issued before the sailing season commences and members eligible for a key will need to have financial status to receive the new key.

I am delighted to say that the Club's Annual General Meeting on July 29 was a success with those members attending actively involved in understanding the financial and general affairs of the Club.  Those present enjoyed a presentation from Richard Ekberg on the Improved Access concept being developed to improve access for the mobility challenged amongst members and visitors. Our objective requires potentially complex solutions due to the regulatory and legal obligations the Club is exposed to.  Feedback from members on the plans exhibited in the Clubhouse is keenly sought by Richard and the sub-committee and I encourage members to send feedback to me in writing or by email to

The election of Officers and Ordinary Committee Members has been deferred to a Special General Meeting to be held on August 27 at 8.00pm due to an administrative oversight and I look forward to welcoming you to this important meeting.  The bar will open for complimentary drinks after the meeting. Nominations for General Committee positions must be in to the Secretary by 8.00pm today.

We need the active support of more members to participate on the House Committee to plan and organise the Club's social agenda and I urge all members to reflect on how they can support the Club.  I would ask social members in particular to get actively engaged in the work of the House Committee .  Please contact Stacey or myself if you would like to join this committee. More hands make lighter work!

Go the Rock!

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
