U12 Girls Blue Team won the BNSW State Cup

The Albury Cougars U12 Girls Blue Representative team had an outstanding 2013 season on the basketball court!

During the season the U12 Girls had a win/loss record of 14 wins and 1 loss. The only loss came with a 1 point Southern Junior League Grand Final loss to Wagga.

The U12 Girls were granted a wildcard to the BNSW State Cup, with Wagga claiming the Southern Junior League qualifying position. The Albury Cougars U12 Girls Representative Blue Team won the BNSW State Cup event being undefeated with 4 wins during the event. This including wins against Wagga, Tamworth and Hills, before eventually defeating Dubbo comfortably to claim the BNSW State Cup.

The girls have worked extremely hard to improve their skills and game knowledge. The culmination of this effort was the consistent display at the BNSW State Cup, where the Albury U12 Girls skills were clearly a step ahead of the other teams.

It was clear the U12 Girls enjoyed the season, and continually responded to coaching even in the last game of the season.

The parents and family members certainly made this a memorable season. As representative coach, this season was one of the best for parent support and attitudes.

This success was not possible without the help of team Manager Traci Harper, assistant team manager Rachel Wright, who both made the job of coaching a simple and easy experience. The outstanding level of organisation, communication and willingness to help and guide a new group of parents this season was invaluable to the success on the court.

A fantastic effort by all, on and off the court, to achieve such impressive results this season.

This group of girls and parents will certainly be a huge part of a successful future of the Albury Girls program. Congratulations to all, and thank you for a wonderful basketball experience!
