Update draw is online

A copy of the updated season draw is on this site.. look under Season 2016.

We will keep you posted on any updates or changes to this draw.

First game under lights for the year.

Saturday the 30th April will see us play under lights for the first time this year. The game is set for bounce down or ball up at 6pm at Number 1 Sports Ground in Parry St. Newcastle.

We look forward to a big turnout due to the brilliant night time conditions to be experienced this weekend.

Come along for a run. you won't regret it.

2016 to get off to a hot start

The 2016 season is due to kick off on March 20th at Dick Burwell Oval, Nelson Bay.

There will be a short Special General Meetig before the game. I do mean short. There is one motion on the agenda and will take all of 2 minutes I reckon.

Te game is set to start at 10am but yuo will need to be there early to register.

Be there or be square..

This year will see our mini carnival played mid July instead of the first week of July as per previous years.

We have a Carnival at Coffs Harbour again this year and we would like to see a concerted effort to get numbers there.

This is a new club and we need to support them through the early stages.

There is some chatter regarding Central Coast rising like a phoenix. Stay tuned for more on that.

The email that went out from the club secretary was wrong in one regard.. They said there was only 2 mini carnivals this year. there are in fact 3 plus coffs..

The Canberra boys have suggested an April 10 or there abouts date.. more info to follow over the next week.

The National Carnival is o the Gold Coast this year so will be will patronised.. If you have intentions of going or are even just thiking about it,talk to your committee.

Trainin is still being held on Wednesday nights at the Foreshore park in Newcastle. 6pm start..

see you next time.

Early Start For Old Masters

June 6 No. 1 Sportsground

With a number of our senior players attending our
Saturday morning fixture the Hunter Masters enjoyed
a steady start to the weekend. We had 30 guys participating in a curtain raiser for
the BDAFL and on this occasion the formal presentation
of Tank JohnstonÕs life membership was made. Congratulations Tank. Attendance for all this year's games have been
really strong with a great effort from Adrian Conedera,
Dean Frerk, Shane Gallagher, Jeff Gilewski, Peter Hesse,
Greg Meagher and Mal Smith who have played every game
this year so far. The next game is on Sunday June 21 at 11am
at McMahon Oval Rutherford.

Changes to the draw

Due to the increased demand on the use of Number 1 Sportsground there have been a few changes to grounds and dates in our draw.

The draw is a rather fluid beast to say the least so it may change again.

Please check on the website, Facebook, Teamer or the team app each week to make sure it is correct.

Flight details to Tassie

2015 Carnival Dates Confirmed

The 2015 AFL Masters National Carnival will be held in Hobart and Launceston.

Game 1 Sunday October 4 in Launceston

Game 2 Wednesday October 7 in Hobart

Game 3 Friday or Saturday October 9/10 in Hobart

Players are advised to fly into Launceston no later than Friday October 2 to settle in for the AFL Grand Final the next day. We have organised an AFL Masters Grand Final function at the Launceston Country Club.

Game 1 will be held at Aurora Stadium and at the Launceston Football Club, Windsor Park. We plan to have buses take us to the grounds, but more of that later once accommodation deals have been finalised.

The not-to-be-missed NSW/ACT night will also be held at a venue and on a date to be announced.

On Tuesday, we have organised buses to transport us from Launceston to Hobart, stopping via a winery/hotel for a nice lunch on the way.

Games 2 and 3 will be held at North Hobart, Gielston Bay and Lindisfarne AFL clubs, and once again we plan to have buses to take us from our hotel to the grounds.

On Thursday October 8, the Wrest Point Casino will run the first ever AFL Masters National Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament. Each State will provide 8 players for a knockout tournament to determine the best poker player in the land. And if this happens to be somebody from NSW/ACT, pressure will be put on the Treasurer to celebrate in style. There will also be other free to play poker tables for all other players wanting to get involved, along with a band, cheap drinks and food to make a great night out.

The presentation will be held at Salamanca Wharf on Saturday October 10 and will be a silver service 3 course dinner and drinks included.

Depart for home or further travels in Tasmania from Sunday October 11.

ACTION: If you are planning to go, book your flights now!! There is 1 direct Jetstar flight Sydney to Launceston each Friday, currently at $99 for Friday 2nd Oct and 1 flight on Friday 9th for $89.

With this being the Grand Final week, flights via Melbourne will become ridiculously expensive, so get in early. Don't worry about accommodation or transport at this stage, just get your flights organised.

More details and the carnival form will be made available shortly once all details are known.

The uniform order forms etc. will be sent out once costing is settled.

Training for the year has started. Nothing to strenuous.

It takes about an hour out of your afternoon or evening once a week.

The Club trains every Wednesday night at Foreshore park on the big round east of the lake.

We are not hard to find so for those wanting to get a bit of run in their legs all you need do is turn up and have a run and a kick..

I promise, no road runs..

Breaking News

At a recent NSW AFL Masters committee meeting it was decided to amalgamate with ACT AFL Masters. All those in attendance agreed that the amalgamation would be for the good of the sport in NSW and ACT.

The ACT have joined NSW AFL Masters as a club and it is envisaged they be called the Canberra Cockys. This will more than likely be confirmed by their committee in due course.

Therefore NSW AFL Masters have changed their name to:

This change is effective immediately and a new logo will be released in due course.
