Week 2 Draw and News

The Association is working on the complete draw for the term but it won’t be ready until week 3.  With the withdrawal of a Men’s B grade side at the last minute, there is room for a replacement.  If there are any players out there in this grade who would like to play, contact Judy Monaghan on 0417622859 or at armball@bigpond.com to help get a team organised.  There are 3 potential players for the team already.

There will be a Regional Development Weekend in mid March that covers everything from Administration, Coaching, Refereeing and even Player Development.  Keep that weekend free to participate in a range of activities.

Don’t forget that it is the beginning of the season and players should take care not to injure themselves after a long break.  The preseason is aimed at getting people back into the swing of basketball and this is not done overnight; warming up and water bottles are essential when playing such an active  sport.

Senior teams are asked to make sure all players have uniforms with permanent numbers.  It is up to the individual teams to organise their own set of uniforms while the Association will provide for minibasketball and junior teams.

We are missing a large number of uniforms borrowed by people and would like to see their return as soon as possible. Check on old team mates to see if they still have a uniform.

There is plenty of room for new players in the yrs 3/4 grade to fill out the teams, just turn up at 4pm or 4.50 pm.  Many of the players are brand new to basketball and are learning as they go.  Don’t forget training on Wednesdays from 4.30 to 5.30.  Training is free and is open to any student, whether they play basketball or not.
