LEGENDS OF AFL MASTERS
Both Angus Adams and Barry “Tich” Edwards have been elevated to Legend Status of AFL Masters Football Australia. Tich was elevated in Townsville in 2012 and Angus in Launceston in 2016.
Both have been long term servants of Tasmanian Superules/Masterules/AFL Masters of Tasmania. Angus set up the very first Superules team in 1982 and their careers began and with the enlisting of the great Peter Hudson to play the base was set for the future. One of Angus’ highlights was Peter kicking 13 goals in his first match.
Angus along with the help of some others set up the original Southern Domestic Competition which is still running strong today.
Both are Life Members of AFL Masters Tasmania Tich in 1990 and Angus in 1992.
They were then inducted into the inaugural Tasmanian Hall of Fame in 2002.
Both were also inducted into the National Hall of Fame Tich in 1997 and Angus in 1999.
Tich has been a sprint champion several times 1986,1987,1993,2001,2002 and has competed most years.
Angus served on the National Board in 1994, The Executive Board in 1995 and was a National Life Member in 1999.
Both were named in the Tasmanian Superules Team of the Quarter Century.
Angus was President of AFL Masters Tasmania from 1992-2004
Tich is still a very active member/player of AFL Masters Football Tasmania
