2012 World Cup U5 - U7

What a day. It appeared that everyone had fun (some more than others) but it was great to see that some teams went through the day undefeated and similarly it was great to see that some teams that didn’t win a game made it through to the World Cup Final in their age groups (it is all won or lost in the novelty events, I keep saying that it is all about fun and participation and it was proven yesterday).

Congratulation to the 2012 World Cup Club Champions:

U5 Greece (Rovers)

U6 Spain (Redbacks)

U7 Argentina (Racers)

Back luck to the other teams particularly those that didn’t lose a game and missed out on the finals but I’m sure everyone had fun. Great to see everyone getting into the spirit of things by cheering and decorating players, supporters and shade. It was plain to see that some teams went all out to win the bonus points for the best dressed teams and best decorated shades. I haven’t attached any photos from yesterday for inclusion onto the website but should you have taken any that you want placed onto the website, please email them to me and I will forward onto Simone (please don’t be disappointed if we can’t put them all up there though).

Now we move into the U8-U11 World Cup event for this Sunday. I have completed the draw and just waiting on some feedback in relation to team names, etc. Once confirmed, I will get the information out asap. The first games will be kicking off at 11am. Car Parking will be at the Eastern Car Park of Diary Farmers Stadium and entry into the BLC will be via the side gate. Some of the novelty events include the Hoops, Ladders (new event), Hurdles, Dribbling Relay, Throw ins, Shoots on Goal & Best Dressed & Decorated.
