Vale - Liam "Wheels" Jorgensen

It was with sadness that the Rollerblaze community learnt of Liam "Wheels" Jorgensen's passing 7 December 2018. However Liam's name will live on in the Gold Coast region because Liam's basketball 'chair was recently donated to our program by his mother Lauren. City of Gold Coast Grant

Rollerblaze end of season trophies for two seasons, 4 sets of new playing singlets and provision for first aid training for volunteers will all be covered by a valuable contribution from the City of Gold Coast Grant received in December 2018. 2018 Winter Season Finals

Due to the Gold Coast hosting the Commonwealth Games during 2018 Rollerblaze had only one season for the year. Monday 10 December saw the Lions team take the McNeil Championship Cup. After the game the volunteers - Michelle Fair, John Stubbs, Ben Noonan and Scott Boland were acknowledged for their ongoing commitment to the program. Smile Till It Hurts - Will Fox Memorial Award

At the 2016 Winter Season Trophy Presentation last night Rollerblaze player Gary Overliese handed the inaugural Will Fox Memorial Award to Roger Gordon. Will Fox, who unexpectedly died in July of this year, was one of the founding players of Rollerblaze and as a mark of respect for his outstanding life this new annual trophy has been introduced.
