Term 1 Schools With Development Officer

Term 1 was another busy term for Development Officer Liam Dedini as he attented schools teaching Football primary school students around the region. 

The Rock and South Wagga learnt the basic skills of football in their programs before practicing all of these in the last weeks of the program when they played football games. The students also learnt the names of the popular soccer teams within Australia. 

As well as school visits Term 1 saw the annual Mini Matildas and Mini Socceroos gala days take place on the 10th and 17th of March. 

Mini Matildas - 10th March

On Friday the 10th of March Football Wagga saw 350 plus stage 2 and 3 primary school girls come together at Gissing Oval to participate in the annual Mini Matildas gala day. The girls played multiple games of football throughout the day and were lucky enough to also be in the presence of a current Matilda and Western Sydney Wanderer Jada Whyman. Jada shared her story and signed autgraphs throughout the day. 

Mini Socceroos Day - 17th march

On Friday the 17th of March Football Wagga held host to over 450 primary school boys from stage 2 and 3 who participated in the Mini Socceroos day. The boys all played multiple games throughout the day as FNSW Coach education manager Oscar Gonzalez and FNSW community development Officer Demela Howard shared their experiences with the kids during the day. The kids all had the chance to answer questions at the end of the day as well as demonstrate their best Tim Cahill celebration and juggling moves. 

Another busy schooling term comes to an end FWW looks forward to another succesful term in term 2.
