NT Institute of Sport - Rugby League

The NTIS Rugby League Program is designed to firstly identify athletes through club and representative performances, and secondly create a learning environment that will support their growth and development in the following areas:

  • Game sense
  • Goal Setting
  • Intrinsic learning and motivation
  • Fundamental skill development

Each athlete is put in to one of three Academy programs depending on age, and will train up to two times a week during the offseason period, before being sent back to their clubs at the seasons start. Each Academy squad is also supported by the Parramatta Eels who provide training attire, coaching and coach support.

The Academy process also underpins the NTIS scholarship program which should act as the final step before relocating to either QLD or NSW to take up opportunities in the elite junior competitions.

At the end of each season a 3 day camp is run for players who have shown commitment to the program during the year, and for newly identified athletes coming in to the program for the following year.
