2018 Super League Series Champions

The weather was kind for the 2018 Super League Series Finals Day on Saturday (17th Nov) after a scorcher the day before when Perth reached 37 degrees. The culmination of a 8 rounds of fantastic touch football in Men's, Women's and Mixed Open Divisions saw all of the affiliates who had entered represented on Finals Day.

The Semi Finals results were:

Mixed Division

Tompkins Park 13 d Northern 7

Southern 7 d Rosalie 6

Women's Division

Fremantle 7 d Northern 4

Perth Brothers 9 d Southern 7

Men's Division

Fremantle 7 d Perth Brothers 5

Joondalup 10 d Rosalie 5

The Grand Finals did not disappoint with all three divisions highly competitive games where all teams had chances to be crowned ' The 2018 Champions' at some stage through each of the Grand Finals.

The Mixed division saw the favourites Tompkins Park take the title, while in the Women's division the young Perth Brothers team caused an upset by defeating the more experienced Fremantle team. The real surprise came in the Men's division when Perth Brothers who had remained undefeated in the rounds were beaten in the semi-final by Fremantle who had finished 4th. Going into the Men's Grand Final, although a new look team Joondalup would still have started as favourites only to see the giant killers Fremantle triumph again with a win in the drop-off after a seesawing game that certainly ended the Super League Series on a high note.
