Circle Work coach workshop - 5 November

When it comes to manipulating and dominating both the inner and outer edge of the circle there's a lot to consider.  How to work the available space, balance the edge of the circle to provide feeding options and communicate without the risk of telegraphing your next move to the opposition.  A good feeder will identify the space their shooter intends to move into while a good shooter will use their periphery players to full advantage to work their way to their prime shooting spot. Whether you're on attack or defence, taking control and possessing a strong working knowledge of the shooting circle can be a key difference between winning and losing at both ends of the court.

If you're a coach, manager or umpire who's keen to upskill and expand your netball know-how here's your chance to make the most of your off-season for your own personal development.  Why not attend some coaching courses aimed at teaching you the best techniques, sharing ideas and supplying you with the right knowledge to be the best coach you can be?  Course content has been compiled by experts from Netball New Zealand and even offer the chance to gain recognised accreditation for your efforts.

The next course on offer is Circle Work which allows coaches the chance to learn how to:
1.  Understand the principles required for game plans involving circle attack and circle defence.
2.  Demonstrate knowledge of how the shooters can work together in the circle to increase scoring opportunities.
3.  Demonstrate knowledge of how the circle defence can work together to create turnovers.

This course covers a number of attack and defence scenarios and provides you with plenty of activities to use with your own team.  Also introduces the benefits of compiling player profiles so you can observe and analyse strengths in your opposing teams to work out strategies to counter their moves and touches on game analysis by tracking your own circle attack/defence movements and successful plays.

While this workshop is geared towards the netball code and is Netball New Zealand accredited, general concepts may also be applied to other sports.  We therefore welcome attendees from other sporting codes should there be interest.  We'd like to help you prepare as best you can to allow both you and your team to have a highly enjoyable learning experience for seasons to come.
