Success at Lower North Island Secondary Schools Tournament

Congratulations to our Netball Wellington Centre affiliated schools for their great achievements at the Lower North Island Secondary Schools Tournament held 3rd - 7th September.

Wellington East Girls' College finished in second place as Grade A Runner Up to TCS Tu Toa while St Mary's College took out third place.  Well done to all players, coaches, managers and umpires who took part.

Both teams are now heading to compete at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Tournament held in Timaru from the 9th - 12th of October. 

The five teams representing the Lower North Island Secondary Schools are:
Tu Toa (Palmerston North) – (2011 Champions / 8th consecutive attendance)
Wellington East Girls' College (Wellington)
St Mary's College (Wellington)
Sacred Heart College (Lower Hutt)
Palmerston North Girls High School (10th time attending)

We are also proud to acknowledge the success of the following players from Wellington East Girls' College, St Mary's College and Newlands College who were named in the A Grade Tournament Team for 2012:

A big congratulations also to Whitney Souness from St Mary's College who was named Mid Court Player of the Tournament.

Congratulations to our Centre's umpires who were presented with the following awards for their performance at the tournament:
Marlissa Howard (Netball Wellington Centre) received an Umpires Merit Award
Jess Lea (Netball Wellington Centre) was selected to umpire the A Grade Final match
Erin Lawer (currently based in Waikato but returning to Netball Wellington Centre) was selected to umpire the B Grade Final match
