Player Centred Coaching course - Monday 31st October

Player Centred Coaching is the recommended first step along the Netball New Zealand coach development pathway.  Gain an understanding of the importance of reflective practice, reflection and how to use it to positively impact both coach and player experience and performance.  Learn about leadership styles and the philosophy behind player centred coaching to get the best out of your players by questioning to test their understanding and gain their buy-in by asking for feedback.  Learn how to implement “Teaching Games for Understanding” to create your own fun games and learning activities.

Once Player Centred Coaching is complete it opens up the opportunity to pick and choose any further additional development modules of interest.  Suitable for all levels – those who are first-timers and those with plenty of years experience seeking fresh ideas.

This module is the only pre-requisite contributing towards achieving the Community Coach Award I (CCA I).  It can also be completed by those with a particular interest in expanding their knowledge in this area.  Player Centred Coaching should first be completed prior to attending however if please get in touch to discuss options further.

Those already mid-way through completing the five compulsory modules that make up the former Community Coach Award (CCA) may still continue to do so before the end of 2016.  These modules include Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Team Building, Skill Analysis and Planning.

From 2017 onwards the following changes will take effect:

Community Coach Award I (CCA I) is the second step and consists of 10 technical modules: Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Planning, Skills Analysis, Team Building, Selecting, Balls Skills, Attack 1, Defence 1, Shooting.  Includes further online and ongoing learning.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
