Talent Identification Umpires Appointed

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) are delighted to announce the following New Zealand umpires have been appointed as International Talent Identification Umpires (ITID) by the International Netball Federation (INF).

Ann Hay (Wellington)
Gareth Fowler (Hutt Valley)
Tania Law (Waikato)
Lisa Paterson (North Harbour)

The foursome are regarded as umpires on their way to achieving or being ready to achieve the International Umpire Award (IUA). They can now be considered for international umpire appointments on ranking matches and major tournaments like the World Youth Netball Championships.

They join three current New Zealand ITID umpires; Angela Armstrong-Lush, Marise Stuart and Danielle Maulder.

NNZ Chief Executive Hilary Poole says this is a great opportunity for the quartet and a positive sign for New Zealand’s high performance umpire programme.

“The appointment of four more umpires to the ITID level reflects well on our umpire development across the country.”

“They have all worked hard and deserve all the accolades that come their way,” she said.

“To have a total of seven ITID umpires is incredibly rewarding for all of those involved in the high performance umpire programme.”

All seven ITID umpires are currently assigned matches in the College Netball competition and the ANZ Championship.
