Trial Eligibility Criteria...
To represent Netball Wellington Centre, players must be:

• in Year 9, OR aged under, under 17 OR under 19 years of age as at the 1st of January 2017
• currently registered, fully financial (all fees prior to 2017 paid up in full) and actively playing for a current school or club affiliated to the 2017 Netball Wellington Centre Winter Competition played on Saturdays at either the ASB Sports Centre or Hataitai Netball Courts.

As each of the five netball centres within the Wellington region (Netball Wellington Centre, Netball Hutt Valley Centre, Kapi Mana Netball Centre, Netball Kapiti and Netball Wairarapa) intend to select their own Year 9 &/or Under 15 along with Under 17 teams in 2017 there will be no dispensations granted for these age groups to trial for another centre. 

Under 19 teams will be selected depending on player availability within each Centre.  Under 19 players affliated to ther centres may be eligible for exception under the following circumstances:

• Following non-selection at their first choice of centre, individuals who are allowed to play Winter Competition within two netball centres (eg, school team vs club team) may decide to trial for their alternative netball centre of their own free will.  Dispensation is not required.
• If your affiliated Centre is not selecting their own team therefore you do not have the option to trial you may request Dispensation from your affiliated Centre to be released to trial for another Centre.  If wishing to request dispensation to be released to trial elsewhere you should approach your affiliated Centre to request a dispensation form.  Your Centre should then work with you to complete the necessary paperwork and provide a copy on your behalf to Netball Wellington Centre via email to gm@netballwellington.co.nz prior to our first trial date.

Trialists must trial for their relevant age group as at 1st January 2017.
Trialists may not trial for a higher age group unless dispensation has been specifically granted by the Netball Wellington Centre General Manager.  Year 9s are therefore expected to trial for the Year 9 team and shall not be considered for Under 15 trials.

2017 Trial, Training & Tournament Dates...
It is important that you please take care to consider your availability for each commitment listed below prior to submitting your nomination form to trial.  As part of successful selection you MUST be available to attend ALL training and tournament dates unless special exemption is granted by Netball Wellington Centre's General Manager.

Year 9 Representative Team
2017 is the first year Netball Wellington Centre will be running Year 9 trials.
(up to two teams selected - up to 12 players in each team dependent on available talent)
Some dates are still to be confirmed, possibility for dates to be reviewed/added
• Year 9 Trials Wednesday 5th April, Sunday 9th April & Wednesday 12th April 2017 held at the Hataitai Netball Courts.  Weekday trials held 6pm-8pm.  Weekend trials held 10.00am-12.00pm.
• Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th June 2017  - Marjorie Jenden Tournament hosted by Netball Kapiti in Paraparaumu
• Sunday 11th June 2017 – Betty Steffensen Tournament held in Palmerston North
• Sunday 18th June 2017 – Netball Wanganui Combined Tournament held in Wanganui.  In the instance there is enough talent to select a Year 9 Development Team they may attend this tournament - not attended by 1st Team.
• Sunday 25th June 2017 - Molly Dorne Tournament held in Levin
• Sunday 9th to Tuesday 11th July 2017 – North Island U15 Championships held in New Plymouth.  Attended by 1st Team only.  Travel dates: depart Saturday 8th, return Tuesday 11th July.

Year 9 trainings traditionally held Sunday morning 10.00am-12.00pm and either Tuesday evenings 6.00pm-8.00pm or if two teams selected there may be the possibility training will be moved to Wednesday evenings 6pm-8pm.  Held at the Hataitai Netball Courts – some flexibility for change possible and final decision will be advised as soon as able in consultation with Lead Coach/es once appointed.

Under 15 Representative Teams
(two teams selected - up to 12 players in each team)

• U15 Trials Sunday 2nd April, Tuesday 4th April and Sunday 9th April 2017 held at the Hataitai Netball Courts.  Weekday trials held 6pm-8pm.  Weekend trials held 10.00am-12.00pm.
UPDATE AS AT 4 APRIL: Trial #2 venue moved indoors to ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie 6pm-8pm.
• Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th June 2017  - Marjorie Jenden Tournament hosted by Netball Kapiti at Te Atiawa Courts in Paraparaumu
• Sunday 11th June 2017 – Betty Steffensen Tournament held at Vautier Park in Palmerston North
• Sunday 25th June 2017 - Molly Dorne Tournament held at Donnelly Park in Levin
• Sunday 9th to Tuesday 11th July 2017 – North Island U15 Championships held in New Plymouth (travel dates: travel via mini van - depart Saturday 8th, return Tuesday 11th July)

• U17 Trials Sunday 2nd April, Tuesday 4th April and Sunday 9th April 2017 held at the Hataitai Netball Courts.  Weekday trials held 6pm-8pm.  Weekend trials held 10.00am-12.00pm.
UPDATE AS AT 4 APRIL: Trial #2 venue moved indoors to Wellington East Girls' College Gym, off Austin Terrace in Mt Victoria from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
• Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th June 2017  - Marjorie Jenden Tournament hosted by Netball Kapiti at Te Atiawa Courts in Paraparaumu
• Sunday 11th June 2017 – Betty Steffensen Tournament held at Vautier Park in Palmerston North
• Sunday 18th June 2017 – NWC Invitational Fixtures held at the ASB Sports Centre in Wellington
• Monday 17th to Thursday 20th July 2017 - Netball New Zealand U17 Age Group Championships held at Pukekohe Netball Centre (travel dates: travel via plane - depart Sunday 16th July, return Thursday 20th July).

Under 19 Representative Team

• U19 Trials Tuesday 2nd & Sunday 7th May 2017 held at the ASB Sports Centre in Wellington.  Weekday trials held 6pm-7.30pm.  Weekend trials held 10.00am-12.00pm.
• Sunday 11th June 2017 – Betty Steffensen Tournament held in Palmerston North
• Sunday 18th June 2017 – NWC Invitational Fixtures held at the ASB Sports Centre in Wellington
• Warm up match TBC with other U19 teams prior to Nationals, date/s and venue TBC
• Monday 10th to Thursday 13th July 2017 – Netball New Zealand U19 Age Group Championships at ASB Sports Centre in Wellington .  Teams enter tournament camp and stay together from Sunday 9th July to Thursday 13th July.

U19 trainings traditionally held Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings 6.00pm-7.30pm and Sunday 9.30am-11.00am at the ASB Sports Centre.  Last training 9th July.  Some flexibility for change possible.

Open Grade (19+) Representative Team
(one team selected - up to 12 players)

• Open Grade (19+) Trials Tuesday 22nd August & Sunday 27th August 2017 held at the ASB Sports Centre in Wellington.  Weekday trials held 6pm-8pm.  Weekend trials held 10.00am-12.00pm.
• Saturday 9th September – Taranaki Open Tournament held at theTSB Stadium in New Plymouth (TBC)
• Sunday 17th September 2017 – NWC Invitational Fixtures held at the ASB Sports Centre in Wellington
• Warm up match TBC with other Open Grade (19+) teams prior to last tournament on calendar - date/venue TBC

Open Grade (19+) team trainings traditionally held Tuesday evenings 6.00pm - 7.30pm at the ASB Sports Centre.  Last training 3rd October.  Some flexibility for change possible.

Other possible rep team fundraising commitments:
• Gold Coin Days – Saturday 27th May & Saturday 24th June 2017 – collections at ASB Sports Centre venue.
• Netball Wellington Centre will book and front promotion for Movie Night or Quiz Night fundraising ventures - successfully selected players will be asked to fully support these ventures by selling tickets and promoting amongst their family and friends.
• Netball Wellington Centre may arrange other fundraising ventures such as chocolate sales or raffles on behalf of its teams - successfully selected players will be asked to fully support these ventures by selling tickets and promoting amongst their family and friends.

Inability to attend all Trial Dates...
It is recommended that trialists make themselves available and commit to attending all trial dates to ensure a fair and equal selection process.  In special circumstances a dispensation may be granted to those who provide a valid reason for missing one or more trials.  Please be sure to indicate any absences clearly upon registration so as not to unfairly disadvantage yourself.  If in doubt email admin@netballwellington.co.nz for clarification.

All trialists are required to submit a nomination form prior to attending the trials. 
Trialists are encouraged to self-nominate or can be nominated by their Parent/Coach/Sport Coordinator with the player's knowledge and permission.
