Start the year with Pre-Season Netball Development for Year 7-11
Our Pre-Season Netball Development Programme is offered in Term 1 and is a netball-specific skill development programme held indoors at the ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington.
This six-week programme is aimed at motivated netballers in Year 7-11. It aims to prepare this particular age group to hit the season in the best form possible. We'll work on setting an aerobic base (working at an intensity that gets the heart rate up), some court agility (getting those fast feet moving), core and strength work (building on your stability and body balance) and most of all improving your play so you can enjoy your game. This may be the boost you need ahead of attending school or rep trials and help you to give your best out there on court to kick-start your season.
Sessions will build on players' current performance of basic skills and coaches will aim to correct technique for the benefit of the player. It's a great way to add to skills practiced in our Off-Season Development Programme or if attending for the first time it should provide the boost you need to kick-start your season on the right foot.
We are fortunate to have our own NWC Development Staff members John Neho, Kylie Tuffery and Maria Hegarty leading these sessions.
Year 7&8: Mondays
6 week duration
Sessions held from 4.30pm to 5.30pm weekly
Starts 12th February and ends 26th March 2018 (no session 19th March due to national futsal tournament held at ASB Sports Centre)
Year 9-11: Tuesdays
6 week duration
Sessions held from 4.30pm to 6.00pm weekly
Starts 13th February and ends 27th March 2018 (no session 20th March due to national futsal tournament held at ASB Sports Centre)
Please note: we offer 1.5 hour sessions per week for this particular age group to pack in even more beneficial learning.
Cost:
Year 7&8 - $75 per participant
Year 9-11 - $85 per participant
