Planning workshop for coaches - Monday 7 November

Ever heard the saying "Failing to plan is planning to fail"?  So true when a little time taken in fore-thought and preparation can make things run all the more smoothly and alleviate pressure.

If you're a coach, manager or umpire who's keen to upskill and expand your netball know-how here's your chance to make the most of your off-season for your own personal development.  Why not attend some coaching courses aimed at teaching you the best techniques, sharing ideas and supplying you with the right knowledge to be the best coach you can be?  Course content has been compiled by experts from Netball New Zealand and even offer the chance to gain recognised accreditation for your efforts.

In an effort to set you off on the right foot this Planning workshop explores the benefits of seasonal, monthly, weekly, game day and team talk plans along with the importance of evaluation and self reflection. Plus we'll have plenty of handy tips and templates to share to make life easier.

We welcome you to attend this handy learning opportunity suitable for coaches, managers and umpires who are keen to build on the basics - let us help you add more tricks to your coaching toolkit.

Suitable for all levels – those who are first-timers and those with plenty of years experience seeking fresh ideas.

This course lies within the new series of compulsory courses that contribute towards achieving the Community Coach Award I (CCA I).  It can also be completed by those with a particular interest in expanding their knowledge in this area.  It is one of the few courses that does not have a pre-requisite.

Those already mid-way through completing the five compulsory modules that make up the former Community Coach Award (CCA) may still continue to do so before the end of 2016.  These modules include Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Team Building, Skill Analysis and Planning.

From 2017 onwards the following changes will take effect:

Community Coach Award I (CCA I) is the second step and consists of 10 technical modules: Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Planning, Skills Analysis, Team Building, Selecting, Balls Skills, Attack 1, Defence 1, Shooting.  Includes further online and ongoing learning.

Community Coach Award II (CCA II) follows on from CCA I with seven additional tactical modules: Fit for the Season, Game Analysis, Mental Skills, Tournament Planning, Through Court, Centre Pass, Circle Work.  Includes further online learning ongoing learning.
