2014 Rep Trials & Season Information

 

In 2014 the Netball Wellington Centre intends to offer the opportunity for players to trial for selection in two Under 15, two Under 17 and one Under 19 representative age-grade teams. 

In order to name two teams for the U15 and U17 age groups we seek a large pool of talented players to select from.  Trials provide a great experience for keep players - we strongly encourage all to put your name forward and give it your best shot!

Trial eligibility:
Players need to be playing for an affiliated school or club team within this year’s Netball Wellington Centre winter competition played at the ASB Sports Centre and must be aged under 15, under 17, or under 19 years of age as at 1st January 2014.

Trial dates:

  • Thursday 10th April 2014 from 6.00pm - 8.30pm (U15 & U17)
  • Sunday 13th April 2014 from 10.00am - 12.30pm (U15 & U17)
  • Tuesday 15th April 2014 from 6.00pm - 8.30pm (U15 & U17)
  • Tuesday 6th May 2014 from 7.00pm - 9.00pm (U19)
  • Thursday 8th May 2014 from 6.00pm - 8.00pm (U19)
  • Sunday 11th May 2014 from 10.00am - 12.00pm (U19)

All U15 & U17 trials are held at the Hataitai Netball Courts, 43 Ruahine Street, Hataitai, Wellington.
All U19 trials are held at the ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington.

The following teams will be open for selection:
Under 15 (2 teams) – eligible trialists must be under 15 years of age as at 1st January 2014
Under 17 (2 teams dependent on available talent) – eligible trialists must be under 17 years of age as at 1st January 2013
Under 19 (1 team) - eligible trialists must be under 19 years of age as at 1st January 2014

Inability to attend all trial dates:
While we strongly recommend that triallists be available to attend ALL trials, due consideration may be granted to those who indicate their unavailability upon submission of their representative trial nomination form and provide a valid reason for their absence. Please therefore be sure to incidate any absences clearly so as not to unfairly disadvantage yourself.  In special circumstances a dispensation may be granted to those who provide a valid reason – please enquire.

Before trialing, please make yourself aware of the following information including team training and tournament commitments.  All successful trialists must be available to attend.

Sunday 15th June 2014 - Steffensen Tournament held in Palmerston North
Sunday 29th June 2014 - Molly Dorne Tournament held in Levin
Sunday 6th to Tuesday 8th July 2014 - Regional U15 Age-Group Championships held in New Plymouth

U17 trainings: Traditionally two trainings per week held Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings (some change possible – to be confirmed upon selection of team coaches).

U19 nomination form will be made available at a later date.

U15 & U17 Rep Trial Nominations close 12pm Tuesday 8th April 2014

A nomination form must be submitted either by the trialist themselves or on behalf of the trialist prior to attending trials. For example, a previous Coach or School Sports Coordinator can submit a nomination on behalf of the trialist so long as the trialist is aware and agrees to attend. 
Coaches/Sport Coordinators - please advise players if you are nominating on their behalf so they know to attend.
