Netball Wellington Centre Seeking Assistant Coaches & Team Managers for 2014 U15, U17 & U19 Rep Teams

 

Netball Wellington Centre invite interested Assistant Coaches & Team Managers to take up the opportunity to get involved with coaching our 2014 representative teams. Positions within the Representative Team Management are a pathway opportunity for all coaches and managers wishing to further their coaching careers and for those wishing to give back to the netball community at Centre level.

Netball Wellington Centre welcome those who wish to take up the exciting opportunity to work alongside other experienced individuals. These positions are in a volunteer capacity however and provide a fantastic opportunity to further develop yourself. Travel and accommodation will be covered for each team management official to attend most away fixtures and tournaments with the exception of apprentice coaches who are funded to attend local tournaments only. Apprentice coaches are considered to be upcoming coaches who could benefit from further development and confidence gained through shadowing a Head Coach/Assistant Coach whilst gaining hands-on experience observing and interacting within the team environment.

At present we are seeking keen applicants for the positions of Assistant Coach and Team Manager for the following range of teams:

• U15 1st Team
• U15 Development Team
• U17 Team
• U19 Team

Applications for Apprentice Coach will open in March 2014 where applicable. We shall not be advertising for primary care/physio roles until after this time.

An indication of key commitments for the upcoming 2014 Representative season are detailed below:

• Saturday 31^st May & Sunday 1^st June 2014 - Marjorie Jenden Tournament hosted by Netball Wairarapa in Masterton
• Sunday 15^th June 2014 - Steffensen Tournament held in Palmerston North
• Sunday 29^th June 2014 - Molly Dorne Tournament held in Levin
• Sunday 6^th to Tuesday 8^th July 2014 - Regional U15 Age-Group Championships held in New Plymouth

U15 trainings traditionally held Sunday morning and Tuesday evenings – some flexibility for change possible

 

Under 17 Representative Team – some dates are still to be confirmed, possibility for further dates to be added

• U15 Trials Sunday 13^th, Tuesday 15^th & Thursday 17^th April 2014 held at Hataitai Courts

• U19 Trials Sunday 4^th, Tuesday 6^th & Thursday 8^th May 2014 held at the ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie
• Saturday 31^st May & Sunday 1^st June 2014 – U19 Netball Central Zone Tournament held at the ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie
• Sunday 15^th June 2014 - Steffensen Tournament held in Palmerston North
• Warm up match TBC with other U19 teams prior to NZAGC, venue TBC
• Monday 7^th to Thursday 10^th July 2014 – Netball New Zealand U19 Age Group Tournament held in Dunedin

Other possible rep team fundraising dates:

• Gold Coin Days – Saturday 17^th May 2014 for U15s & Saturday 21^st June 2014 for U17/U19s – collections at ASB Sports Centre venue
• Further fundraising ventures to be confirmed during 2014

Interested applicants should please:

• Complete a Team Management Application in full and return as soon as possible.
• Attend an interview for this position if required.
• Attend regular meetings prior to and after representative team trials.
• Attend all trials and pre-trials selections to confirm player selection (if appointed Selector).
• Respond to requests from Netball Wellington Centre in a timely manner.

Applicants may also be asked to attend a debrief interview/meeting at the end of the representative season.
