Netball NZ Youth Advisory Group seek new members!

Netball New Zealand and the Netball Central Zone are recruiting for Youth Advisory Members now!

Why not put yourself forward so your voice can be heard and make a difference?
Take up a role as a Youth Advisory Member - have input into important decisions of Netball New Zealand and represent young netballers within your area.

The Youth Advisory group is set up to inform and consult with Netball New Zealand on a number of aspects of Netball and how they affect young people.  The Youth Council will include up to 10 members including 2 Youth Advisors from each Zone.  Members need to:
• Be between 16 -21 years of age
• Have the ability to work with other people and work in a team
• Be proactive and committed
• Approachable and effective communicators
• Be professional, ethical, fun and open

It is expected that the Youth Advisory Group will provide a broad representation of New Zealand’s Netball youth population with consideration given to:
• The inclusion of Youth Advisors who have different roles in the Netball community (Umpire, Administrators/Officials, Players, Coaches and Volunteers)
• A diverse range of cultural backgrounds

Specific Criteria for each role:
Player -
• Played in a Netball Team either through their school or local Netball Centre this year
Umpire
• Preferably has Zone Award
• Currently an active Umpire/Official
• Has preferably umpired at a Zone Tournament

As a Youth Advisory Group representative you would be required to:
• Attend the annual Youth Advisory Group meeting at NNZ
• Be available to attend any other training/meetings (When applicable)
• Receive and reply to email questionnaires and online survey’s
• Relay and provide information to their networks (Zones, Centre’s, Friends, Family and Peers)
• Bring youth issues and opportunities to the Netball New Zealand Youth Advisory Group
• Assist Netball New Zealand to canvass youth views

In return for your commitment to this role, Netball New Zealand will provide members with:
• The opportunity to be a valued member of the Youth Advisory Group
• Have input on various working parties and/or projects
• Assistance with transport to and from meetings
• Enhancing their CV for school, university and future jobs
• Insight to Netball New Zealand processes and systems
• The experience and knowledge to make the voice of young people heard
