Register now to trial for the 2011 U15/U17 Representative Teams

Netball Wellington Centre shall soon be holding trials to select our 2011 Under 15 and Under 17 representative teams.  We invite all skilled netball players under 17 years of age as at 1st January 2011 to fill out a nomination form or if you are a School Sport Coordinator or Coach you may like to nominate on the player's behalf.  Please complete the attached form and return to us via email to info@netballwellington.co.nz, fax to (04) 389 0945 or post to Netball Wellington Centre, PO Box 14845, Kilbirnie, Wellington. 

Prior to trials starting Tuesday 3rd May, we shall be holding two Ribbon Days during Saturday competition on 16th April and 30th April.  All players keen to be considered for trials are asked to come into the Games Office prior to their game to register their name, team name, court and identify which whether they are trialing for U15 or U17 and shall receive an appropriate coloured ribbon to attach to their uniform or wear in their hair for Talent Scouts to look out for.  You will find further information including trial dates, ribbon day dates, training days & tournament dates.

 

TRIAL DATES:     All trials will be held at the Hataitai Netball Courts, 43 Ruahine Street, Hataitai, Wellington

U15     Tuesday 3rd May     6.00pm – 8.30pm (approx

             Sunday 8th May     10.00am - 12.30pm

             Tuesday 10th May 6.00pm – 8.30pm (approx)

U17   Tuesday 3rd May     6.00pm – 8.30pm (approx)                      Fitness/skill assessment 

            ALL PARENTS are requested to attend a brief induction at 6.15pm outlining expectations of U17 rep level players.

             Sunday 8th May       9.00am start for those unable to attend Tuesday trial. 9.30am - 12.00pm for all other trialists.

            Tuesday 10th May   6.00pm – 8.30pm (approx)

 

RIBBON DAY DATES:        In addition to the above trial dates, there will be two Ribbon Days. Ribbon Day dates are:

Saturday 16th April                                            Saturday 30th April

Players please come into the Games Office prior to your Saturday game and register your name, team name and court with the staff member on duty. Please then state whether trialing for U15 or U17 and receive a coloured ribbon to tie to your uniform or wear in your hair to identify you to our Talent Scouts who shall be at the courts.

 

REP TRAINING DAYS:

 U17       Held on Sundays at 9.00am & Tuesdays at 6.00pm

U15       Held on Sundays at 10.00am & Wednesdays at 6.00pm

 

TOURNAMENT DATES:

Players selected for representative teams must be available to play at the following tournaments:

U15 & U17              Queen's Birthday Marjorie Jenden Tournament                  4 - 6 June, Porirua        

U15 & U17              Steffensen Tournament                                                 12 June, Palmerston North

U15                        National U15 Age-Group Championships                          17 – 19 July, New Plymouth

U17                        Netball New Zealand U17 National Tournament                 25 – 28 July, Hamilton

Other tournament dates may still be advised
