8-week Wednesday After-School Netball Competition for Kids!

Keen to play mid-week after-school netball?  Then join our Kids’ Netball Competition!

Get a head-start on the netball season - put together a team with all your friends to play in our summer indoor Kids’ Netball Comp and register by Monday 13th February!

Following positive feedback regarding our new Kids' Netball Comp held October-December, we are thrilled to be able to offer another eight-week competition with games played after school on Wednesdays between 4.00pm and 6.00pm with balls, bibs, umpires and prizes all organised for you.  All games are played indoors so you can focus on having fun whatever the weather!  It doesn’t matter if your friends go to a different school or you are different ages or if you play in an existing team or have never played before. Boys and girls are welcome so grab some friends, think of a cool team name and enter either our Year 5 & 6 or Yr 7 & 8 grades.  Please note, due to lack of entries our Year 3 & 4 grade has had to be cancelled but we shall try again next time as it is a great chance for Year 3's to get a taste of the great sport of netball prior to becoming involved in their school team.

 Venue:                ASB Sports Centre, Kilbirnie, Wellington

Open to:              Boys & Girls Years 5 - 8

2 Grades:             Year 5 & 6     AND     Year 7 & 8

Please note: While a Year 3 & 4 grade was originally planned, due to lack of registrations received we have had to cancel this grade but hope to offer it again at a later date.

Playing Dates:                  

• Wednesday 15th February (FIRST GAME)                               
• Wednesday 22nd February
• Wednesday 29^th February
• Wednesday 7th March
• Wednesday 14th March
• Wednesday 21st March
• Wednesday 28th March
• Wednesday 4th April (LAST GAME)

Game Times:              4.00pm, 4.40pm or 5.20pm

Cost:                            $40 per team per game paid on the day     OR   $320 per team paid up-front

Game duration:        32 minutes – 4 x 8 min quarters

Balls, bibs, umpires and prizes all provided for you!

Keen to umpire and earn some pocket-money? Umpires receive $8.00 per game or if keen to sign-up to umpire all three games on Wednesdays you can receive a bonus $30.00 flat rate! If you are interested in getting some more umpiring practice or keeping your skills up in the off-season while making yourself a little pocket-money please fill out the attached Registration Form below and ensure all details are completed in full, especially providing your correct bank account details and umpire qualification so we can organise payment. Please then return it via email to info@netballwellington.co.nz or fax to (04) 387 7461.

 

HOW TO REGISTER:

Access a Kids' Netball Comp registration form at the bottom of this page along with further information and rules attached.  The PDF version of the registration form can be printed, completed and faxed back to (04) 387 7461 or the Word version can be edited, saved and attached in an email to info@netballwellington.co.nz.  If wishing to pay the $320 playing fee upfront, please ensure payment accompanies your registration form and is made via the following methods:

• Cheques can be made out to Netball Wellington Centre and posted to PO Box 14845, Kilbirnie, Wellington 6241
• Direct Credit into Bank Account: ASB   Branch: Lambton Quay    Account Number: 12-3141-0055535-00.  Please also include YOUR CHILD'S NAME & reference "Kids Comp" as the payment particulars for our Account Administrator’s benefit. 
• If wishing to pay on the night, we can accept cash or cheque made out to Netball Wellington Centre.  Please indicate this on your registration form and also make mention of this in any supporting email/post/fax correspondence so we are fully aware to follow-up when your team signs-in for their first game.


REGISTRATIONS CLOSE:   While the original deadline has been we are hopeful to attract a couple more teams to even up the number of teams in each grade.  Please therefore submit your completed registration form to us by  on Monday 13th February 2012.  Please get in touch promptly to allow us to squeeze you into the competition draw for the first game on Wednesday 15th Feb!
