Six Western juniors will learn about life as a professional Rugby League player at the Andrew Ryan Country to City camp in Sydney this weekend.

A Dubbo junior himself, who represented Australia, NSW and win a NRL premiership with the Bulldogs, Ryan will lead the camp aimed specifically

at preparing Country talent for life in the big smoke.

In total 24 participants were selected from the eight Country Rugby League academies.

 The camp agenda includes training sessions with the Sydney Roosters along with synchronised workshops at the NRL Rookie camp scheduled for this weekend.

 Far West Academy members attending include George Dunn (Coolah), Matt McGregor (Lightning Ridge) and Brayden Carney (Trangie/Dubbo CYMS brother of Justin Carney).

 Ben Thomson (Parkes), Andrew Kelleher (Cowra) and Tom Kirby (Bathurst St Pat’s) are the representatives from the Western Academy.

 The squad will assemble at lunch time in Sydney tomorrow and depart Sunday afternoon.
