Narrabri Touch resumed their summer competition last Monday night under hot conditions however, it wasn't as hot as it has been.  Referees allowed players to have a drink break whenever necessary and this made it easier to get back into the games after our Christmas break. The canteen was in full swing with cool drinks being available.  Sunscreen is also available if any player has forgotten to slip slop slap.
A big welcome to the ladies who have made a comeback after their maternity leave. They were looking forward to getting back into the game they love.  They were a little worried about the temperature but somehow got through the game with no injuries and only red faces due to the heat.  Welcome back ladies.
Just a reminder if any referee is not able to carry out their duty please organize someone else to fill in.  Team contacts please also ensure your referees are available as well.  A big thankyou to our non playing referees Colin Armstrong and Terry Hynch who helped out with duties on Monday night.  Some referees were fighting fires and they kindly helped out. Many thanks for your efforts.
Our website was not up and running last week to put the draw on but this week everything should be okay.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
A big thankyou to Tracy Warren and Matthew Nott for organizing the fields last week, especially in the hot weather.  Eventhough they are not being watered at this stage they still looked magnificent from the road whilst driving past.  With this hot weather being so continuously long the Committee and players are dreaming of the time when we can eventually play under lights. This will be a dream for a little longer but we live in hope.
The North West Games will be held in Armidale on 2nd and 3rd March.  Divisions are Men's Opens, Women's Opens, Mixed Opens, Youth Boys , Youth Girls and Men's Seniors.  Tim Baxter our Carnival and Coaching Coordinator will be taking names on Monday night.  Nominations close on 22nd February and training will need to start in the next week or so.  Any questions please ask Tim or a Committee person.
