WNWBL Round 3 action this weekend

Round 3 of the 2011 Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League shifts to the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane this weekend, with the match between Queensland’s Minecraft Comets and the To Be Active Western Stars on Friday night, the first of 10 games to be played this weekend.

After two rounds of play all five teams have now played each other twice, and this weekend will see a similar format.

The VIC Dandenong Rangers continued the outstanding form they demonstrated on their home floor in Round 1, to remain undefeated as the season shifted to Perth for Round 2 and will be out to keep their top of the table ladder position this week.

The To Be Active Western Stars currently sit second on the ladder with a win-loss record of 6-2, having accounted for all teams expect the Rangers.

Home-team in Round 3, the Minecraft Comets registered their first win of the season last round against the Sydney Uni Flames and will be keen to capture another victory in front of their home crowd.

The League has five rounds in total. Following this weekend, the season moves to Sydney over the weekend of 20-21 August.
