Travis Hayto Hawks Men’s Player Profile

Age: 23   Nickname: Hayto

Work: Freelance Photographer

Why basketball?  I started at a young age but did athletics seriously until I was 17. For other reasons that stopped, but I always had a love for basketball so thought I would get into it more seriously. I also like the culture, especially at Perry Lakes where there is a lot of interaction between different grades and ages. You aren't playing at different venues all the time and you get to meet a lot of people.

Thoughts on the season so far? Unfortunately I haven't been around a lot. Work has taken over my life. We have a great group of guys and if we keep each other in check, play good defence and play as a team, I’m positive we can go all the way. Personally, I need to work harder on the practice court. Once I feel I have done that, I'm happy to contribute to the team in whatever role coach needs me to.

Favourite players/inspirational people: Dillion Boucher - His ability to do the ‘unstatable’ plays and make a difference in a team is invaluable.Kobe Bryant - His love for the game and hunger to win is amazing.

Favourite moments playing? I love every moment I’m on the court playing. Under 23's with Mal Keene was one of my favourite years. I hated it at the time but looking back on it his harshness is what I needed! My first game of SBL and the first game I ever started in SBL were memorable moments.

3 things you're good at other than basketball: Being a Clown, Photography, Cooking

8 of your favourite things you couldn't live without: Food, Ashbey, Chocolate, Ugg Boots, My Bed, NBA League Pass, My Camera, Smiles

If you could hang out with any 5 people in the world, who would they be and why? Kobe Bryant - Because he is one of the greatest to ever play the game. Dalai Lama - Not because of who he is - but the way he views life. Will Smith - He seems like a lad. Albert Einstein - A man far ahead of his own time and an amazing brain. Adolf Hitler - A man who heavily influenced the modern world. I would like to understand the psychology of his thinking.

Favourite saying: My favourite saying at the moment is - "You can’t harvest the crop if you don't plant the seed" and "Happiness is a state of mind not a place".

Anything else you'd like to add?

Thanks to the "Hawks Family" for supporting me over the years, providing me with an opportunity to influence other young persons lives and also giving me a platform to develop my business.
