Coaching Edge is a continuation of the respected magazine Coaching Update, which was first published in April 1988 after the VFL assumed responsibility for football development in Victoria and formed the Australian Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Vic Branch in 1987. There was also a predecessor, Australian Football Coach, published by SANFL from1972 until 1975.
Each Coaching Edge edition contains interviews with significant coaches, skills, drills, information from the AFL High Performance program, research-based information and a range of views about football and coaching.
The June 2013 edition contains:
- An insight into the simple, hard-working, team-first philosophy that helped contribute to Sydney's 2012 success
