A brief insight into the excitement on the field at Campbells Creek Football Netball Club.

The Pies didn't get its 2017 campaign off to the ideal start on the weekend but it worked tirelessly to challenge Harcourt in a big game.
The Pies expect to make the top eight this year after finishing last season in 13th position. There is enough talent on the park to take it to September with a strong addition of players.
The exciting aspect about the Senior team this year is that it has lost just two players in the off-season; Tin Conway and Tim Britton, but has added a staggering 14 players to its list; Mick Waldron, Nic Swan, Matt Hodgetts, Daniel Freeman, Brendan Galvin, Harrison Booth, Josh Adamson, Kaleb Kennedy, Lachlan Kennedy, Bobby Johnson, Christian Galvin, Jordan Lavery, Peter Kennedy and Luca Campanelli.
This is one of the best players in/out across AFL Goldfields. This shows the buy-in from the players and the community; while getting behind second year Senior coach Mick Galvin.
Kaleb Kennedy is one of the young stars to watch in 2017. He is versatile; can play in any position; a hard worker; has great hands and is strong at the ball. He showed this against the Lions when he was named in the best.
Jordan Ilsey is another player to watch for. He is a smart footballer, strong contested marker and is a great long kick. He kicked two goals ont he weekend to show immediate value to the team.
The team identifies Navarre as the team to watch out for. They have won the past four premierships and is aiming for number five.
Netball
It wasn't the best season on the court for the Pies last year; finishing in 14th position at the end of 2016. The confidence is still high within the list to make finals and have a big impact on the season.
It slipped to Harcourt on the weekend but will look to bounce back this week.
Like the footballers, the list turnover has been impressive in the off-season.
Sharni Simpson, Danni Speak, Danni Bowe, Jaylea Ford, Chloe Tilbury, Alison Walsh, Jodie Hamley, Sara Matthews, Tiana Cassar, Brianna Henkel and Libby Argus join the squad while Isabella Bertoni and Staci Glenister departed in the off-season.
Sharni Simpson is a handy boost to the team, taking over the squad as A Grade coach in her first year. She was named in the best on the weekend and was the second best goal scorer on the court.
Jodie Hamley is a young player to watch out for. She has moved from the goals to defense; is very tall and an amazing reader of the ball.
Alison Walsh is another star to watch. She has years of experience; has long arms and legs; and it is hard to get the ball past her.
The team believes that Navarre and Trentham are the teams to beat this year after playing off in the Grand Final in 2016.
