Southern Football League Mail Medalists

Each season, the umpires vote for the League's best and fairest player. This player receives the Mail Medal, the highest accolade for the individual player. 2013 saw Happy Valley player Jonathan Eagleton top the votes for the second year running.more

S.F.L. B Grade Honour Roll 1948 to present day

The Southern Football League 'B' Grade competition has been strongly contested over the years. The Lovelock Medal is presented to the 'B' Grade Best and fairest and the leading goal kicker is also recognised for their achievements. Flagstaff Hill Football Club are B Grade premiers for 2013.more

S.F.L. C Grade Honour Roll 1983 to present day

The "C" Grade competition, established in 1983, is played each Sunday by 7 clubs within the league. Each year the best and fairest player is awarded the Graham Gunn Medal. "C" Grade Premiers for 2013 are the Brighton D. & O. S. Football Clubmore

S.F.L. Under 18's Honour Roll 1960 to present day

The under 18 competition play off for the A.D. Hall Shield and each year the best and fairest player is awarded the Bob Ryan Medal. In 2013, as in 2012, the Under 18 premier is Flagstaff Hill.more

S.F.L. Under 16's Honour Roll 1964 to present day

The S.F.L. under 16 competition play off for the Broughton Shield. The player adjudged best and fairest is awarded the Clem Hurst Medal. The under 16 Premier for 2013, as in 2012, is the Brighton D. & O. S. Football Club.more

S.F.L. Under 14's Honour Roll 1968 to present day.

One of the breeding grounds for future players in the S.F.L. and beyond, players in the under 14 competition play off for the Johnny Davis Shield. The player adjudged best and fairest is awarded the Des Halliday Medal (formerly known as the Brian March Medal from 1968 to 2001). The Malpas Medal

The Malpas Medal has been awarded to the best player in the traditional Grand Final re-match each ANZAC day since 2005. The player traits shown by the recipient of the medal each year are reflected in the man whom the medal is named after.more

S.F.L. to A.F.L.

The S.F.L. promotes the pathway from the local league to the A.F.L. The League is proud of it's players who have taken the step from playing in the local league to the V.F.L./A.F.L and recognises their achievement.more

League Life Members

The Board of Directors of the Southern Football League shall have the power to elect Life Members (not more than two annually). Such Life Membership is to be awarded to those who have rendered special service to the League. Qualification for Life Membership of the Southern Football League shall be at least ten(10)years of valuable service.more

S.F.L. Player life members

To be appointed as a Player Life Member, a player shall have played football for a Southern Football League Club or Clubs in not less than ten (10) seasons and shall have participated in a minimum number of one hundred and fifty (150) A grade matches and shall have played in at least three (3) A Grade matches in the 10th or subsequent seasons.more
