Information for 2018 Junior

Representative Players Summarised 

This is some basic information about the substantial time commitment that is required from both player and parent along with the financial requirement that comes with participating in the Representative Program.

Time Commitment 

All Junior Representatives are required to play in the SGBA domestic Summer and Winter Competitions.

Representative teams will be required to train twice a week where possible.

Representative teams will compete in the Waratah Metro League Competition. Games are held on Sundays with games tipping off from 8:30am – 4pm at a multitude of venues throughout great Sydney metropolitan area.

Preseason, Regular & Final dates to be confirmed, dates below are only a guide once confirmed players will be notified

State Champs & Cup dates also to be confirmed.

In addition your team may choose or be eligible to participate in other tournaments throughout the season. These tournaments may include: Gosford Coastal Classic: February, The Melbourne National Junior Classic and Nunawading Spectres Tournament: June long weekend. Under 14 National Club Championships: September     Dates to Be Confirmed

Financial Commitment

The initial cost in 2018 for junior representative players is $650, which includes costs for:

  • Preseason Games, Weekly Game fees, Finals (if Applicable)
  • Training Sessions & Court Hire
  • Referee Payments for Representative Games
  • Court Supervisors
  • Equipment provided for training sessions
  • Uniforms – shorts, singlet & warm up shirt (singlet to be returned at end of season)
  • Ticket to the Presentation Dinner
  • Team Photograph at season end
  • Team nomination fee
  • Team entry into National Championships, State Championship or State Cup (if applicable)


Players will have to purchase a Reversible Training top at a cost of $40. Has to worn at every training session & taken to every game as an alternate playing top if there is a colour clash.

Development / Reserve players levy $450 (includes reversible top)

Players also have the option to purchase Sports Bag & Hoodie Package $100. Separately Bag $50, Hoodie $60.    All orders need to be paid for on the Sunday 3rd December 2017.

Total Payment due on Sunday 3rd December 2017 at Blakehurst High School attendance by parents & players is compulsory. Please check website closer to date for your age group times.

Genuine cases of hardship will be considered. If you will have difficulty meeting the financial commitment of the program please apply in confidence to the Representative Manager.
