THE 2012 Dreamtime at the 'G match between Essendon and Richmond will be played on Saturday night 19 May at the MCG.

The match is a highlight of AFL Indigenous Round.

The Footy Means Business participants will play for the Rio Tinto Cup in the curtain-raiser. That match commences at 4.12pm and will be broadcast to the following locations on television: Southern Cross for Darwin and Central markets; and GWN7 for Regional WA. Radio coverage will be provided by NIRS into Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin and Perth, and various regional centres around Australia.

Dreamtime at the 'G will feature a spectacular line-up of performers including Shane Howard and his band along with Dan Sultan, Amy Saunders, Emma Donovan, William Barton, Bart Willoughby and Tjimba Possum Burns.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the iconic Goanna song Solid Rock from the landmark best-selling 1982 album Spirit of Place will feature.

The pe-match entertainment will also include the creation story of Boorimul and Gurook from the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation using dance, puppetry and lighting.

Wurundjeri elder Aunty Joy Murphy-Wandin will conduct a Welcome to Country ceremony to welcome the clubs and spectators to the traditional lands of the local Indigenous community.

Children involved in NAB AFL Auskick at halftime hail from Rumbalara, Nowa Nowa, Doveton, Robinvale, and the Fitzroy Stars.

At the conclusion of the game, the player judged best-on-ground will be presented with the Yiooken Award. Pronounced yie-yoo-ken, it is a word from the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people which means 'dreaming'. Previous winners of the award are Dean Polo (2006), James Hird (2007), Nathan Foley (2008),Jason Winderlich (2009), David Hille (2010) and Trent Cotchin (2011).

7.50pm Match commences

10.25pm (approx) Match concludes. Presentation of the Yiooken award
