In order to help younger players learn the physical skill and rules of basketball, PPBA run a number of development programs for boys and girls from grade prep onwards.
A 9 or 10 session Program to teach the minimum skills required in the game of basketball. Individual players welcome. No basketball skills required. Suitable for individuals at a beginning level Prep, Year 1, Year 2.
A 9 or 10 session Program to teach movement on court, team work, and development of ball handling skills and shooting. Individual players welcome. Most suitable for individuals Year 2, Year 3.
Dribble, Pass ‘n’ Shoot.
A 9 or 10 session Program to teach the game of basketball through skills clinic and on court game play. Most suitable for teams of Year 2 and Year 3 beginners.
Team of at least 6 players required plus a parent/older sibling to coach (No coaching experince required - you can learn with the kids).
Dribble, Pass ‘n’ Shoot - Slam Jam.
9 or 10 games with modified rules and specific skill direction. Suitable for Year 2 and Year 3 beginners who have previously completed Dribble, Pass ‘n’ Shoot.
Team of at least 8 players required plus a parent/older sibling to coach (No coaching experience required - you can learn with the kids).
Game Day Basketball Clinics
Free Basketball Clinics are offered every game day. Individual players and teams can participate in a ‘skill and drill’ session with our Head Coach Joe.
Time and location of Game Day Clinics will be published in season's fixture.
Elite Player Development
For players who wish to expand their skills past our domestic competition, PPBA field a number of representive teams as "Port Stars United". The program currently involves a number of rep teams and a "rep ready" squad to develop future rep team players.
