Village News "Crackerjack Attack"

2017 Village News “Crackerjack Attack  No. 7"

To be held at the New Farm Bowls Club with proceeds going to the New Farm Neighourhood Centre

  1. To be played over FOUR Tuesday evenings [21-28 March & 4-11 April ] for one hour from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

  2. Starts on Tuesday 21 March with the final game on Tuesday 11 April [Note: Teams that have entered are entitled to a free practice session in the week before the first game -  for those who want to get a feel for the game before the comp. starts]

  3. The exciting new Crack A Jack A ttack format is designed for players who want to have fun and enjoy a friendly fun filled hour.

  4. Any group of people from a business house, workgroup, friends or family can  ‘nominate’ a team for the competition - think up a crazy name that everyone will remember [or want to forget!] - you can nominate more than one team for your group or workplace.

  5. Each Tuesday evening three of your group make up your team for that night. The composition of the team can change from week to week - you just need any three people  from your group. If you get stuck one night and are down a player - let the club know and we should be able to find someone to help you out.

  6. Each player has 2 bowls each ‘end’ and there are two ‘sets’ of 5 ends that make up each game. You play in any order - just one team after the other-  and if its all tied up after the two sets, then you play a ‘tie breaker’ end.

  7. The game should take no more than about an hour.

  8. It costs each player $7 each time they play. Most of this money will be donted to the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre. The Bowls Club will retain $2  to cover costs of the green preparation, lighting and bowls].

  9. The team who wins most games over the four  games will be awarded the Village News Cup. If there is a tie, then there will be one super end between the tied teams to decide the result. Even if there is more than a two way tie all tied teams will play just one end to decide the  result.

  10. Food and refreshments will be available prior to and after the games each evening.

  11. We would like the community, the businesses and the families in the New Farm area to put in a team in and be part of a great competition and at the same time help New Farm Neighbourhood Centre to provide much needed services.

  12. Nominations forms are available on line at the New Farm Bowls Club web site.  Nominations can be done on line, post to POBox 350 New Farm 4005 or handed in at the NFBC at 969 Brunswick Street, New Farm.
