Redbacks' Women beat Senators

The Bank of Queensland Women’s State Basketball League team had a big 58 to 53 win over the Senators in a tight encounter that went right down to the wire.

This sees them remain in ninth-place in the 12-team competition with six wins and eight losses.

Forward Tarsha Fletcher was their game-high scorer with 17 along with three assists and two steals.

Centre Marita Payne scored 14 and brought down 12 rebounds along with four blocked-shots and two steals while power-forward Jessica Jakens scored eight and had two assists.

Point-guard Gabby O’Sullivan scored seven and had five assists and two steals while fellow point-guard Rachel Lisch scored six and had six rebounds.

The State Basketball League action continues this Friday for the Bank of Queensland Redbacks at the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre against the Cockburn Cougars, with the women's game starting at 6.30PM and the men's game at 8.30PM.
