Redbacks Call to Supporters in SBL Finals
The Perth Redbacks State Basketball League teams are both playing this Saturday night at the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre in the first round of the State Basketball League playoffs.
The sixth-placed placed Redbacks’ Women’s team will be playing the third-placed Bunbury Slammers at 6PM.
The return of point guard Rachel Lisch and centre Marita Payne will mean that for the first time in many weeks the Redbacks’ Women will go into a game with a full playing contingent.
They promise to take the game right up to the Slammers in what is a must-win game, with the prospect of there being two away games the following weekend.
This is also a must-win game for the Redbacks men’s team against the Cougars, who will similarly face the Cougars in up to two away games the following weekend.
The Redbacks’ men will be relying on continued strong efforts from guards Joel Wagner and Jarrad Prior, as well as a big performance from forward and US import Blake Bender who has been dominant in recent weeks.
This is a call for all Redbacks’ supporters to get down to Belmont Oasis en masse to help both teams gain a spot in the semi-final round.
