Glenn Ellis to coach Redback Women.

The Perth Basketball Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Glenn Ellis to the position of Womens Head Coach for the 2012 season. As Womens Head Coach Glenn will not only be involved with the SBL program and senior teams but in the growth of our women at every level, with particular attention to the development of our female WABL program.

Glenn takes over SBL coaching from Narelle Henry who is keen to focus on playing and maximising the teams on court performance.

Glenn brings a wealth of knowledge to the Redbacks with years of both playing and coaching at the top levels of basketball. Glenn played at all levels culminating in being a part of the inaugural Perth Wildcats team and playing over 100 games in six years. Glenn has coached at every level including junior and state teams, several SBL teams in both Mens and Womens, as well as serving as assistant coach of the Perth Wildcats for 2 years with Allan Black.

Bringing his wealth of knowledge to the Redbacks program Glenn is keen to get to work developing the skills of our Women at every level of the club. He is particularly excited to be working with some of the development players including the D-league womens team who made the Grand Final in 2011. Glenn looks forward to working with the talent in the Redbacks Womens program and already shares a clear rapport with many of the players.

Glenn will work closely with David Harris, the Mens Head Coach, to continually build and develop better coaching processes and systems and ultimately the future of Redbacks Basketball.

The Perth Basketball Association board sees this appointment as an important step in its renewed focus on developing our Coaches and Players at every level of the club and welcome Glenn to the Redbacks family.
