Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks' WABL Wrap Round One

The Benchmark Designer Homes Redbacks won two and lost 11 games in the first round of the 2011 Western Australian Basketball League season against the Perry Lakes Hawks.

The under 12 men’s team lost narrowly to Perry Lakes Hawks 39 to 44. Joshua Armstrong top-scored with 11, Jordon Herbert had seven, Kyle Bowen and Luke Simonette four and Nick Biancuzzo three. They are in fourth place in the six-team northern conference.

The under 12 women lost 38 to 56, which sees them in third place in the five-team conference. Emily Nixon was the game-high scorer with 24 while Lauren Thompson and Noor Soliman both had six and Nicola Kastropil had two.

The under 13 men’s team lost 27 to 54. There are no individual scores listed on the WABL website for this game. They are in fifth conference place out of six-teams.

The under 13 women are in fourth conference place after losing to the Hawks 29 to 83. Chloe Smith had 20, Rachel Warren one, Kai Wineera four, Paige Fleming two and Emma Bowen two.

The Benchmark Designer Homes under 14 men’s team had our first win of the day with a scorecard of 47 to 41. Zac Huxley top-scored with 14 while Stephen Pover had 12, Kaelin Kramer two, Connor Jansen two, Jared Pedersen three, Max Whately two, Nicholas Ramsay three, Andrew Rich five, Ibraham Soliman two and Adam Parora two. They are in second conference place out of six-teams.

The under 14 women’s team lost 17 to 74, which sees them in fourth conference place. Tayla Naudi had six, Emerson Lambert five, Emily Capstick two, Ashtyn Mason two and Tegan Verren two.

The under 15 men are in fourth conference place out of six teams after their narrow 56 to 58 loss.

The under 15 girls lost 39 to 73, which sees them in fourth conference place out of four teams.

The under 16 men lost to the Hawks 65 to 70, which sees them in fourth place in the six-team conference.

The under 16 women lost 21 to 124, which sees them in sixth conference place.

The under 18 division two men lost 48 to 108. They are in eighth place out of ten teams.

The under 18 women’s team were beaten 51 to 74. They are in fourth conference place out of four teams.

The under 20 men won against the Hawks 86 to 58. This sees them top in the six-team conference on percentage.

Unfortunately, individual players’ scores also have not been uploaded onto the WABL website for the above seven games.
