FIRST WEEK OF WABL FINALS

28-8-2009 - By Redback's Media

There are six Redbacks’ teams playing in the first round of the WABL finals on Sunday 30 August.

The under 14 boys will be playing in their first ever final against the East Perth Eagles in a sudden-death quarter final playoff game at Wanneroo. The tip-off is at 10.30 at Wanneroo on court 4.

Our under 15 girls will be on court 3 at Wanneroo against the Eastern Suns; and the under 16 girls will also be playing the Suns on court 4. Both are sudden death finals with a tip-off at 1.30PM. This means that if you are sufficiently flexible, you can perch between the two courts and barrack for both teams at the one time.

The under 23 men’s team will be playing the Eastern Suns on court 5 at the Perry Lakes Stadium again in a sudden-death playoff. The 23s went deep into the finals last year and again are likely to if they get over this week’s tough fixture, which starts at 1.15PM.

The Under 18 Division 2 men’s team is playing in yet another sudden-death playoff game against the Perry Lakes Hawks on court 8 at the Perry Lakes Stadium. The tip-off for their game is 4.45PM.

The Women’s Division One team is back in the finals defending the title they won last year. They are in a qualifying final play-off after having qualified in top-position in the Northern Conference, but will have to be at their best against the tough Wanneroo Wolves combination who they played in last year’s grand final. Their game starts at 4.45PM on court 5 at Perry Lakes.

We would like all Southside Mitsubishi Redbacks’ supporters to come out to the WABL finals and support our teams that are playing.
