Week 13 WABL Results

The Redbacks had an improved weekend at Warwick in Week 13 of the WABL Competition. 5 out of 13 teams registered wins with several teams only going down by a few points. The Senators are always a tough club to face and this day was no different.

Our young girls teams showed their talented against the Senators with the Under 13 Girls scoring a great 53-30 win. The Under 14 Girls were also succesful scoring a 53 point win over the Stirling outfit, 53-30. The Under 16/1 Girls fought hard but could not get it together on the day, going down 49-65.

The Senior Women had mixed results with the Under 18 Women unable to get over the line in their 30-65 loss. However it was a more succesful trip for the Division 1 Womens team who won their match 57-45. The Women had one of their better days of the season scoring 3/5 wins.

The boys teams had a hard fought day managing to get just 2/8 games on the day. The Under 13 team came up against the very powerful and potential touring team and showed great spirit but went down 42-101. The Under 14 Men came up against the Under 14 touring team for 2007 and could not match it with the powerful unit, 26-81.

The Under 16/2 team continues to show outstanding spirit but were again unfortunate in a close game, loosing 56-68. The Under 16/1 team couldn't holt their two game loosing streak, going down to the Stirling outfit led by former Wildcat Captain and Coach Mike Ellis, 72-42. The Under 18/2 team reigned supream in their clash, registering their fourth win of the year with a 73-65 triumph. However the Under 18/1 team went down in a close one 73-85, this is just their 5th loss of the year though.

The Seniors men also had mixed results against the Senators. The Under 23 Men won their fourth game of the year, starting and finishing the game in superior fashion for a 90-74 win. However the faitgue from the Kalgoorlie SBL trip was too much for the Division 1 Men, loosing a close one 76-84.

Next week the Redbacks tackle the East Perth Eagles at Morley Sport & Recreation Centre. Goodluck to all the teams in their matches and we look forward to another week of improvement and hopefuly even more Redback wins.
