Wildcat's Beveridge a Big Hit

Over 200 aspiring Redbacks WABL players sweat it out at the Leisurelife Recreation Centre in Victoria Park, and were exposed to some outstanding coaching, provided by Perth Wildcat's Head Coach Rob Beveridge and former Wildcats Glenn Ellis and Adrian Majstrovich.

Ably supported by the Senior Mens and Womens Redbacks teams, players were put through their paces on Sunday as a part of the clubs renewed focus on Player and Coach Development.  But the drawcard of the day was undoubtedly the involvement of the Wildcat's head man, who as always was very giving of his time for the sake of junior basketball development.

Beveridge spent an hour with the Redback's 2012 WABL Coaches in a private Coaches Workshop, followed by an intensive oncourt session with over 50 players auditioning for the Redback's U15 and U16 Boys teams.

Former NBL veteran and European All-Star Adrian Majstrovich passed on some of his extensive knowledge to the U18 Boys, and then Glenn Ellis put his boundless energy on display for the Junior Girls.

On a day which was all about learning and being a part of the Redbacks Community, the involvement of our Men's and Women's SBL players was invaluable.  Former and current WNBL players such as Narelle Henry, Marita Payne and Rachel Watman, as well as former and current NBL players like Majstrovich, Joel Wagner, Jarrad Prior and Michael Vigor spent quality time working with the young people who are hoping to follow in their footsteps.

The PBA would like to extend a big Thank You! to Rob Beveridge and the above players and coaches for being part of an experience which be valued by our players for years to come.
